Chicago cabs engaged AT the airports will charge Meter Rate PLUS 1/2 to an address in Skokie and Meter Rate to an address in Evanston. To avoid the upcharge to Skokie addresses, a Suburban Taxi Cab company can be engaged in what is called a "prearranged ride". American Taxi Dispatch has a flat rate from O'hare of $27.00 (plus tip) and from Midway $47.00 (plus tip) to any address in Skokie. To Evanston the rates are $31 from O'Hare and $51.00 from Midway.
Uber and Lyft are viable options as is renting a car. And Yes, you can take the 'L' from the airport and after several transfers and a whole lot of time, you can arrive within walking distance of several hotels in Evanston.
If you wish to rent a car away from the airport to save the excessive airport fees, several car rental companies are in close proximity of our host Hotel and others in Evanston.

Both American Taxi Dispatch and 303 Taxi charge comparable, flat rates to Skokie and Evanston. Both have apps available to simplify the process.
(We personally prefer American, their response time at O'hare is usually within 10 minutes.)

This is a one hour walking tour that will include the Pritzker Pavilion, The Lurie Garden, The Crown Fountain and Cloud Gate (aka "the Bean").
It will start at 11 a.m. SHARP, from 201 E. Randolph, on the south side of Randolph, just EAST of Michigan Ave.
This tour is free, but you MUST sign up in advance as attendance is capped at 20 persons.
Email your reservation to williewildkit1967@gmail.com
For more details about the Park, and parking/CTA information go to https://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/dca/supp_info/millennium_park_-planyourvisit.html
Looking for something to do AFTER the tour?

Something Wonderful Right Away The Long Avoided Sequel by Jeffrey Sweet

Annoyance Theater
Something Wonderful Right Away – The Long Avoided Sequel
Our Own
JEFFREY SWEET
Performs his...Well, let him Explain it:
"The night after our reunion weekend -- For reasons I won't go into, the Annoyance asked me to retitle my solo show, YOU ONLY SHOOT THE ONES YOU LOVE, for the performance I'm giving there on September 11. The title is different, but the show is the one that the NY TIMES, Mike Nichols, Sheldon Patinkin and Edward Albee liked."
One of the hits of 2011's New York Fringe (reprised in their Encore series), a 75-minute yarn about how the Cossacks almost killed Jeffrey Sweet's grandmother and what that has to do with a generation of Jews bringing teeth and cojones (look it up) to American comedy. In response to Joe McCarthy, Nixon and HUAC, wits like Nichols and May, Alan Arkin, Shelley Berman, and Jules Feiffer (and Lenny Bruce, Mort Sahl, Neil Simon and Mel Brooks) invent modern American satire. Stories of mad geniuses, outrageous behavior onstage and off, and how this led to Saturday Night Live, Tina Fey and Stephen Colbert.
