Reunion Updates
Whoops! This is very dated material!

 Happy 70th Birthday!

As a reminder to anyone interested in getting together with other Classmates in far flung locals, if you have joined eths1967.org, you can use it to find Classmates in your area.

When Classmates signed up on the Website, they were asked several questions, some were required and some were optional. The ONLY required questions that SHOW on the site is your name in high school and current name, your state and country of residence and your Hall. The only other question that required an answer was your email address , which does not appear to the public.

If you go to the Classmates Page on our website, you will see a link to an interactive map where you can search for Classmates in your area.

Most Classmates can be reached by clicking on the bar under their yearbook photo. An email will be sent to that Classmate at the address they used for registration.

To send an email, you must use your email address and the Classmate you are trying to reach MAY or MAY NOT get back to you, their choice. This is all done by the software and bypasses all administration of this site, we won't know anything about it.

As details of our Evanston Township High School Class of 1967 50th Reunion Celebration are available, they will be posted on this page.

It has been confirmed! Our Saturday plans include a tour of ETHS which will include the opening on one of the four Time Capsules sealed in the Corner Stones on each School (Hall). The High School is planning to use some of the four capsules in the curriculum next year and is looking for volunteers. Please read below and see if this might be something that you would like to do. See you in September!

TIME CAPSULES FROM 1967!

While we are approaching our 50th High School reunion in 2017, Evanston Township High School is also going to be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the completion of the construction we endured during our senior year.

David Futransky, ETHS Executive Director of Alumni Relations, who has been most helpful in guiding us in our reunion efforts, is looking for members of the Class of 1967 to help with the celebration.

Below is the information from David:

TO THE CLASS OF 1967
PREVIEW OF ANOTHER 50TH CELEBRATION

ETHS is not only celebrating the class of 1967 as it will celebrate its 50th reunion in 2017, we are also celebrating 50 years since the construction of the additions to the building that shape our current campus. I am sure that you remember the construction that went on throughout your last years of high school. Four academic wings were being built along with additional gym space and room for updated technical arts (now Career Tech) classes.
North, East, South and West schools were being renamed for the first 4 ETHS superintendents: Beardsley, Michael, Bacon and Boltwood. As the first issue of the Evanstonian (9/22/66) said, over 4700 students could no longer nap in classrooms for all of the construction noise. In the spring of 1967, 6 weeks prior to graduation, several ceremonies were held to dedicate cornerstones for the new buildings.
Time capsules were set behind cornerstones to commemorate the moment. And, after 50 years, it is now the moment to reopen these boxes. Members of the class of 1967 were part of the process. ETHS wants you to also be part of the process, NOW.
If you have a memory of a dedication ceremony, or of what went into the time capsules – we know that West School had written a new school song and created a new crest – we would like to know. If you want to be part of opening a time capsule, we would like to know. And, most importantly, if you would be willing to share memories of ETHS with current students, either as a member of a panel or via video recording, we would like to know. ETHS is planning a celebration to start in January, 2017 that will continue throughout the 2017-18 school year.

Please contact us at WillieWildkit1967@gmail.com or David Futransky, ’69, ETHS Executive Director of Alumni Relations, at 847-424-7704 or futranskyd@eths.k12.il.us and let us know how you would like to participate.

Today, some of the working reunion committee met for lunch at Cheesecake Factory in Old Orchard. David Futransky, our alumni adviser, told us previously that most classes make the 50th reunion the last big gathering and then have small regional gatherings. Those don’t always need a lot of planning. No advanced ticket sales or special name tags. We did talk about a local 70th birthday dinner, possibly in Evanston, for next summer when most of us turn 70. Some of us wanted something more so we talked about a 7 day cruise out of FL next March or April. The nice thing about a cruise is they can range in price from about $700 and up but includes all entertainment, food and lodging. You are treated the same whether you have a suite or an inside room. Everyone can make their own reservations and maybe gather most evenings for dinner, or brunch.....  please give us your feedback. We will not be planning dinners in every region. We leave that to those who live in a vicinity. Posts can be put on the website and Facebook group page.
